A free addiction....

Written on 24th November 2006, 5.00pm

Just when you thought it was safe to go back on t'internet !!!

It all started on the 7th October 2006. I was browsing eBay looking for an XBOX 360 and came across one of those listings describing how to get the console free. You know the ones - move on and smell the coffee. Usually, but not this time.....

I'm a curious sort though and was drawn to a link to - ten minutes later I had discovered the world of freebie referral schemes. A great community of freebie hunters, full of sites to visit and tips on how to get what you need. Above all, real individuals who have received real freebies and cash alternatives, some amassing thousands of £'s worth.

Curiosity killed the cat as they say. If you are going to do something, you might as well do it properly and that's just what I have done. My progress over the last two months:

  • I've coded my own web page and have over 800 hits A free XBOX 360 Premium is on its way to me - estimated time of arrival 15th December 2006.
  • I am verifying on a second site with a choice of a PSP Giga Pack or £200 PayPal payment.
  • One more referall and an iPod 30gb video is mine.
  • Not one bit of counting of chickens.

Getting referrals is admittedly time consuming and I am close to standing up and shouting "My name is Steve and I am a freebieholic". In fact, if you added the hours up and multiplied them by the minimum wage, you could have bought yourself the free items.

At the end of the day, if you have the time and energy (and patience), then give it a go, you really have nothing to lose.
